Private Lessons
Canine Nanny offers private lessons in the comfort of your home. Private sessions allow for flexibility where busy lifestyles or particular challenges make group lessons inconvenient. Lessons can be taught to the whole family or for those most involved with the dog(s). If there is a particular time of day that your dog is at its most challenging, I do my best to meet with you at that time so that we can start to immediately deal with the issue at hand.

It is best to work with dogs in your home if there is trouble with other dogs and /or people. Later, when there is more confidence in the people and their dog, a class situation may be recommended.

Private sessions allow us to work on one major issue or a number of prioritized issues such as dashing out of the door, jumping on visitors, stealing, chewing, excessive barking, not coming when called, leash pulling and lunging, inappropriate toileting and whatever else happens to be causing strain in the relationship.

Group Classes
Small group classes are offered at Summeridge Animal Clinic in Thornhill and at Total Equilibrium Centre in North York. The classes are deliberately kept small to allow for as much individual teaching as is possible in a group situation.

Some of the things that are taught in the classes are: leash walking, coming when called, paying attention( especially with the distraction of dogs and people), not dashing out of doors, leaving and dropping ( eg. Socks, garbage, and whatever else).

Puppies and adult dogs are integrated into the same class because the classes are small and because there is no free play in these classes. Small dogs then do not have to be intimidated by the larger dogs and vice versa.
